Will be, but I hope to continue hacking occasionally. You won't see me so often, but I'll still be lurking in the shadows.

I still have 3 years to go. HS freshman AND valedictiorian (as of 3rd quarter). I think the 'B' that I'm getting in english will put me second. My friend is neck-to-neck with me.

How small is your school that one b in english will only put you at second in your freshman year? At my school, having one b would have probably put you at least 5th or 6th in your freshman year. Of course, by the time you hit your senior year, most of the competition dies down and so a b might even keep you at #1.

one b in my school puts you at around 14. i'm a senior and one of the smartest kids in the school but i got a B in Cisco networking II my first semester of my senior year. that is the only B i have gotten, and that puts me at number 13 or 14. i was pretty bitter about that for quite a while.

i cood git en 'F' an stil bee nummer wun...im howm skoold! Actually, I have got straight A's this semester which helped to continue my 4.0! And for all you honor's students at schools that give 5.0 for an A, I don't wanna hear it. I was (and will be for one more year) in honor's at Chandler-Gilbert Community College throughout my last two years of high school. Sorry if this sounds like bragging, but I'm am just very proud of my achievements. However, I'm a little upset with ASU right now, because an illegal alien that I know, who is an average student (probably about a 2.75 gpa or so, technically that's SLIGHTLY above average) got a FULL RIDE, when I got NADA as a 4 point student. Scholarships are being given away, but politics are getting involved in it more and more, so they are taking preference to "foreigners"...even if they aren't legal citizens. </venting>

You have a 24.0 GPA!? (4.0!, hehe)

But yeah, I hate it how some schools allow you to have up to a 5.0. Ours only goes up to 4.0, so when I say I have a 4.0 and my friends from another school say they have stuff like 4.7's, it's kind of annoying. :)

Yeah... My school does something similar: percentage points. For an A, you get 7 points, B: 5, C: 3. This means that if you have an 88% B in a class, the report card says 93% A (the lowest A in my district).

You mean second-best student of your year? I've always wondered about that; why do you guys think that's so important? When I graduated high school nobody even calculated who was the best. (Doing so might even be a violation of some privacy law. LOL)

No graduating. I'm a HS Junior, so next year. I just got my ring yesterday. NHS on one side, adademics on the other, Quiz Bowl under the stone, and "One Ring to rule them all, one Ring to find them, one Ring to bring them all" in Tengwar on the inside (no, I didn't have room for the last line). This proves I have no life. There ought to be a ring-side option for ticalc.org members. I would have gotten that.

I know the feeling, school tour band is leaving next week without me. I hate homework, but I can learn all the stuff without it... of course my physics teacher dosen't care.\end{rant}

I can't really say I'm going to miss my band room when I graduate. The room has no windows (so the rooms nearby are not blasted by awful music) and the people that populate the room are often idiots and potheads. No teary goodbyes from me...

Heh, you hit me right in the middle. :)

I graduated from High School last spring.

I will graduate from Junior College (hopefully) next spring.

Then a couple more for a Bachelor's, and a couple more for a Masters, then ... I hopefully can stop. :P

Sadly, that honour will be next year. And contrary to popular belief, I will be graduating with the rest of my class.
