I don't scrap very many programs and decide not to upload them; my uploaded/made % is around 95 (in the 80-100% range). I only program in TI-Basic for the TI-89 since that's the only calculator I own and there aren't any TI-89 emulators for Mac OS X (although TIGCC is available for Mac OS X), my primary platform.

I upload only about 30% of my programs, but that's only because about 70% of my programs are stupid stuff that's so specifically for my needs, that it would be dumb to upload. On another note, wouldn't the "I don't upload at all!" option be included in the "0-20%" option? It should be 0.1%-20%, 20.1%-40% etc.

I think I'd go with the 20-40 percent option. If I uploaded everything, it would be well... pointless, though there are a few programs that I made that I haven't uploaded that would be upload-worthy, but I guess I'm lazy.

hehe...I read ahead in my java class just so that I don't have to listen to any of the lessons...instead I go on here and make posts...that's about half of my time on here...during class.

I did that during multimedia class last year. I was going to do it during AP CS, but they cancelled it!! I almost went crazy.

I was doing that most of this year in my computer class but last month they upgraded the security so the teacher can turn on and off our web access. We can't access anything anymore without getting approval from the teacher. I guess it's because so many people were doing E-mail, chat, and games. They also disabled it in our library for before school. It really sucks. Old computers, no internet access, boring assignments...did I mention that the computers crash on a regular basis? The computers were running Win95 until last year. Now they run WinXP. They arn't exactly "reliable" or "useful".

I'll bet you they don't truly run xp either...it's probably an "upgrade" which makes it even MORE buggy than xp already is...I get this "Windows Explorer has recovered from a very serious error" thing EVERY 10 SECONDS...I just move it to the bottom of the screen out of sight so that it doesn't keep coming up. ;)

I know they have "re-gohsted" the computers about twice a month. On the computer I am assigned to they have [supposedly] replaced the hard drive twice. I say the computers are just trash. They are worthless.

As of today, I can't even log in on that computer. Oh, well, at least I can still access the server by logging in on other computers.

I wish we could access our files from home...

All public school computers in my state have ticalc.org banned, citing that it is a "Game site".

However, i found an easy way to get around this....

Instead of typing http://www.ticalc.org, type http://62.65.69.4

It seems that the bannings are in the DNS, so it's pretty easy to get past.

geez, that's bad. I don't have THAT bad, when we have access, we can go to almost anthing (anything allowed by school rules) but that's when it's not truned off by the teachers.

That's what our school computers do on a GOOD day.

Although, my dad has a computer that I helped upgrade from WinMe to XP and it seems more reliable.

All I ever have on _my_ computer is ocationally I will have my display driver crash but--I guess that might be somthing I can blame Dell Computers for since that's who provided the driver.

What about 0.01%? It should be something like, "0 - 20%, the former exclucive" or "(0-20]%" or something like that.

Actually. It states, "What percentage of programs that you make do you upload?" A person can make programs, yet never upload them. Then a person can never make programs and thus, they cannot upload any programs

Yeah. The closest I get is MacTiger, which has a Voyage 200 ROM in it, thinks it's an 89, and has all the keys screwed up, as well as a tiny active screen. For math proper (ie, matrices) I use TI's Mac-81.
I am currently working on recompiling all of TICT's commandline programs to BSD Darwin, primarily to be run under Mac OS X.

Emulators... "Tsk tsk" (has most calcs on HD though =P)
I rarely uploads the programs I make, mostly because I take into consideration the amount of other math/sci/chem programs already on the archive; but the rare ones that don't appear on the archive like a Blood Alcohol Concentration program. I program in basic, but I plan to make my first z80 of BAC, just need to make out a flow chart of equations needed for the program and learn the language...

You actually flowchart your programs on paper??? I just keep a kind of flow-diagram in my head for a couple of weeks and bang out the program when I'm supposed to be doing something.

BTW, yesterday I did my first calculator programming in months. It was a pi-approximator (makes fractions that are approximately equivalent to pi). Goes closer, closer, etc. Best so far is 551/113 or something like that.

Normally I wouldn't use flowcharts for a program, but with this one the amount of formulas needed vary too much as each option changes the result completely, and I just can't be bothered remembering the alcohol content of various drinks etc =P

I made a program a while back that approximates ANY input number with a fraction, and, like yours, the guess gets better and better. I think that the fraction you mentioned is better than any other fraction with denominator less than 1000...click on the little orange icon above to check the program out. It's pretty cool. Oh, it's for the TI89, but hopefully I'll be porting to the 83/+ soon...
