I voted for Edit3d...although this may seem strange, I've used that program for many of my classes. I had to build a boat (full size that I could fit in) out of cardboard in my physics class last semester, and then we raced our boats accross a river against about 50 other boats (This was a county-wide contest: The Great Cardboard Boat Regatta). I actually designed the boat in Edit3d before I built it and it helped a whole lot. I just think it's a great program. If you want more info about the cardboard boat races, search Google. IT's pretty interesting...some of the boats people make are REALLY strange. On another note...somehow the world has managed to end AGAIN (I beat no_one again).

And on the note of what you wrote, I'm kind of glad to see that not everybody voted for the games, even if they may be the best time-spenders. Now, I've never used Edit3D before. Is it easy to use? I never imagined 3D construction would be easy to do on a calculator, but from what I've heard, it's a pretty good program. Maybe I should check it out.

Social outcast...sorta like loners? We should start a loner club and then because we belong in a club we won't be loners any more, and then we won't be in the loner club because we aren't loners and then because we aren't in any clubs we're loners and then we should start some kinda loner club and then...hmmm...circular reasoning...now I see why the calculator gets so confused...

Circular reasoning is great. I esp. like the Grandfather Paradox. That is my favourite. It is the reason that I believe in fate.

Is that the one where you go back in time and kill your grandfather, or you become your grandfather? (oi.. circular inbreeding, the perpetual redneck...)

Re: Re: Re: Loner Club

There's a song I know that talks about how a man married a woman, and then his son married her mother, and so technically his wife's father-in-law's father (or his grandfather) was him...he was his own grandfather. So he could also say that he was his grandfather's grandfather, and his grandfather's grandfather's grandfather, and his grandfather's grandfather's grandfather's grandfather, etc. I believe this is the "Grandfather Paradox" he was talking about...

I was refering to the one where you go back and kill your grandfather. Then you were never born, so you cannot possibly go back and kill him. so you don't. then he lives. Then you go back in time and kill him again. Then you are not born....

There is no paradox involved here. It's really quite simple.

1. If something was changed due to time a traveller's tinkering, we would never know the difference, because the thing that was changed would seem like it was always that way.

2. If you were born, you will never go back in time to kill your grandfather.

3. If you were not born, you are in a quantum state in which
a) you (or your parent[s]) were never conceived, or
b) you killed your grandfather.

Besides, you could just go back to a few minutes ago and kill your grandfather. No paradox or quantum *anything* there. :P

No, that still makes it a paradox. The reason it's not a paradox is because, when you go back in time and kill your grandfather, you create an alternate timeline, in which your granfather was dead and you were never concieved. In fact, you wouldn't even have to kill your grandfather, you'd just have to go back in time. "A butterfly fluttering its wings can create storms thousands of miles away," or something like that. And the air you disturbed by going back in time could cause a slight gust of wind, maybe stir up a few storms, cause your grandparents to never meet because they didn't show up at the same place, and et cetera.

Or was that what you just said? I never completely understood that.

yeah, i think all of those programs are worthy candidates. still, i didn't feel there was any one program that seemed to completely take the calc world by storm and which everybody had downloaded in like 2 days.
i'm not saying i'm not satisfied or appreciative. there was some awfully good effort and skill in these programs. i was really impressed with the 3d programs, too. space dementia--with fully 3d movement--is really cool. i just wish i knew someone w/ an 89 to have fun w/ the program.

oh, and one other thing that i forgot :) Super Start barely uses any RAM (less than 50 bytes compared to more that 2000 bytes) to run a program (the decompression function executes fromt the FLASH memory). This means that under low memory conditions, you may be able to run some programs that would normally tell you that there is not enough free ram

I agree, and I'm really excited to see which program will win. After all, this is the best programming category ;-) Also, there were a BUNCH of programs to choose from. VERY hard choice. I chose Ice Hockey because of how addicting it is. ;-) Also because I loved the NES version so much, and I thought that Fisch did a good job at making it similar (though I found a lot of differences in the gameplay, but hey, it can't be EXACTLY the same).

I've HAD my own TI-92 and V200. (Although I haven't held a V400, I've touched one) Unfortunately, the V200 doesn't have a stand. And 92+'s aren't THAT much bigger than V200's, and the F1~F8 keys are in different spots, so you have to reach far to get to the F5 key that most programmers like to use. :( So I like 92+'s better.
