I don't think this survey is such a great idea because only the people who visit this site often really care about the survey.All the others just want to get a new game/program for their calculators.Also people who visit this site less then once or twice a month won't get the chance to vote and so the results won't give a clear view of the people who visit this site (if that's the meaning of this survey).Its not very hard to guess what choice will get the most votes...

Well, currently, I have to say I visit less than once per month, for I have not been here for a loooong time. But I was once in the category ``more than once per day'' I just got busy and used my calculator for nothing but math lately. But now you know why there are votes on less than once per month.

In MHO, I think this is a good survey idea. The survey's been up for about two weeks, so most of the people who would vote for 3 times a month or more have probably already voted. The rest of the votes will probably trickle in, and there probably won't be any dramatic increase. After awhile, the change gets to be so little that it doesn't really affect the accuracy much. Because of that, you can get a good idea of how often active voters visit this site pretty quickly.
Also, because any web vote is voluntary, it might not give you a good interpretation of the results you're looking for. In this case, you might be thinking about all visitors to this site. In reality, you're only getting responses from people that are members and choose to vote here.
One other thing, people that visit less often--say, two times a month--are probably much less likely to be members of this site. There might be exceptions, but if you think about casual visitors to this site that don't participate, you're probably going to miss a lot of people no matter how long a survey stays up.

The main thing I'm *trying* to say is, you don't need this kind of survey for more than a month. You don't have to wait until everybody votes before you can draw a conclusion.
Mostly it's common sense, I guess, but it's important to statistics (assuming statistics is important to you ;-) .

If there's an option "Less than once per month", you'll have to keep this survey up for more than a month to give everyone a chance to vote. ;)

I come and go, nowadays. I'll come back for a while, but then I'll get real busy with school and forget about it for a couple months... so where's the..it depends..option :p
