Actually, connecting to the internet via your calculator (wireless) would be nice. (hehe) Of course, the HTML interpretation would be horrible, but it might be good enough to send/receive e-mail. It could be like those text messaging mobile phones. (And hopefully, the calculator internet connection wouldn't cost money hehe)

Um, why aren't I authorized to view the text/logs (IRC Chat Logs) page? I remember it was there for the 2000 (or 2001) party, but why can't I view it? Is it because of that "re-doing" of ticalc.org, when they made pages inaccessable temporarily until they cleaned up the files? Did they forget to check that directory?

Mobile phones have had the SMS (text messages) feature for the last 15 years. It is nothing new. Maybe you should start looking at the European market when the American market does not have the feature you want.

I dont know if this is correct but my mobile phone company told me that my phone wouldnt work in europe because europe used a different system like frequencys or something i dont really remember the reason. If this is true than european phones wouldnt work here in the US. But then i HATE my phone company and it wouldnt surprise me at all if the lied just because they didnt feal like dealing with me.

Almost the entire world outside the USA use GSM at 900 and 1800 MHz. The USA uses its own incompatible system and/or GSM at 1900 MHz. In Europe we have bought tri-band phones for years though that work everywhere in the world and in USA where GSM-1900 is available.

Your fantasy about free internet wouldn't happen. No one would provide something of that complication level for free.

Yes, and he's in legal trouble for it. He was distributing some ISP's bandwidth for free.

What really irks me about the whole 'bandwidth' issue is that paying for it now is pointless. Once the costs for laying the pipeline are covered, there is little cost at all to an ISP. In fact, all they really need to do is set it up and give everyone access. They'd be done. It's not like bandwidth can be used up. Sure, it can be diluted to a trickling flow, but never used up. Especially if you do wireless internet; selling air bandwidth is ridiculous.

British English is also taught in China. This makes it very confusing when I try to teach my cousins American English (my cousins live in China).

Is there any country other than the U.S. that teaches American English?

Why teach American English?
CajunLuke

Why would anyone want to teach -other than Americans, of which I am one- anyone else American English? British English is SOOO much better.

Shouldn't that be "...where Magnus, the server, and I reside"?

<sideways wisper> It's called "using their words against them." The irony is that I caught a grammatical error in Henrik's post when he is always correcting other people. That's why it was meant to be humerous. </sideways wisper>
