or what about nothing? nothing is all-inclusive of any random conversation, much like your 'anything'

wow I haven't looked at the polls in a while, been something like 2 weeks that i havent checked back in this area. Yea it is time for a new poll seeing how as the file archiver job is going to be filled in within an estimated 2-3 weeks at most (my own estimate).

Possible topics-
What do you look for in a file reviewer?
Should BASIC programs fade away? (As in very few basic programs will be accepted as file uploads due to a good portion of the 1000+ files being BASIC files)
How well do you think the file archiver will do?
Who do you think will become a file archiver? (when they narrow it down to a few people)

And now my brain has officially shutdown for the rest of the day, so say goodbye to any further possible attempts at intellectual conversation from me

I do remember the article... I don't see too many of my comments... I don't see any of my comments... but they look familiar... how is that possible? ... maybe I didn't post a lot then. ... yeah, I remember these posts... yeah, okay, I remember now, I didn't post very much then. I was kind of a n00b then. :)

I have an idea for a new poll...

Why not ask how many calculators you own?

Except that's probably been used already.

I own 3 TI's (1 TI-89 and 2 TI-85's) and a Sony CLie
which contains probably 5 calculators on it.

yes, it's been done. A really good one would be, 'What is gramatically incorrect with the following sentece?', and then put a sentence with a little poor English.

that includes me. i hate english class, but for some reason i just can't let some english mistakes go, especially when other people are already talking about them. though, if you haven't noticed, one think i don't mind, at least in forums, is not capitalizing 'i's

Oohh... idea for a poll...

"How did you score on the AMC exams?"

We'll just have to wait a few weeks, though because my scores haven't come back yet. ;-)

hmm... let's NOT do that one. I'm really pissed because this year I was unable to take it. I lost my slip the day before it was due, and the nazis at my school wouldn't give me a new one because of some bs reason like it was 'unfair,' but I didn't get a better explanation.
But on that subject, did anyone else here take the USAMTS 'tests'?

What are they? What grade level do you have to be in to take them? Do all schools do them?

it's national, open to 'all high school students' in america, but even middle schoolers can take it. it's run on the honor system: you print out the questions from the site and they just hope you don't cheat. there aren't any awards, except for 'book prizes'. to get to the site, click the link under my name (i haven't had a link in a long time...). it's almost over for this year, but it'll start up again next year. there are 4 sets of 5 questions, one set each month-and-half or so. you can read more at the site, so i'll stop there.

Hey, those questions look similar to the AMC type... I'd probably end up doing bad, though :)

that would be a good thing except for the fact that it is a form of standardized testing and not everywhere has the same form. A good poll would be how well did you do on a standardized test for college bound students (usually meaning SATs, SAT 2s, ACT, and all that other fun, o so fun, stuff)
Since im in new york it would be the SATs and the SAT 2s
1300 on SAT (out of 1600)
740 physics SAT2 (out of 800)
710 math 2c SAT2 (out of 800)

Barrett doesn't do that as much as he used to ;-) Though, his site does look very nice, if I do say so myself. Did you code it all by yourself? I'm not patient enough to do a whole bunch of PHP and PERL stuff. I hate having to ftp your program to the server EACH TIME before you can test it.

But stuff like that really accumulates some interesting posts to read! There was only four pages... I've read through 20 over 3 times a day before... that becomes very time-consuming :) But of course, I spend "a crapload of time" here (right, Polar?)
