Organizer App for 68k
Posted by Joey on 20 July 2003, 08:24 GMT

TI has released their popular Organizer app for the TI-89, TI-92+, and V200 on their website. Unlike the TI-83+ version, this download is absolutely free. It can be used for class schedules, to-do lists, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and also features a calendar. If you already use your calculator more than your PDA (or you don't have one), this merits checking out.

On an entirely unrelated note, Patrick Davidson recently mentioned on #tcpa that the movie advertised in the June 2003 Newsletter needed more publicity. Thus, perhaps you should check it out.

Can somebody with the proper software convert the movie to something other than real media (mpg, mov, wmv) and post a link? I refuse to install any version of real player on any computer I own. I'd be glad to mirror it and share the love.

Heh, good idea --
-- my version refuses to open, and claims that an update is required. Hmph, typical.

I was thinking the same thing... could somebody post the movie somewhere in a different form? AVI would be great. Um, an MPEG would work too.

Gamedwellerz.com had a Calendar program for almost a year now! I even helped program it, its just a calendar with options to add specail events and stuff. You should try it out if you dont want the entire oraganizer app.

Alright. I switched the OS and downloaded the APP. It's cool, it does just about everything you could want in an organizer. Except there's one little problem for me. I just "discovered" that my TI-89 is a Hardware 1.00 (HW1), so it can't do all the clock stuff, which was the whole point of the AMS 2.09. My old one was HW2... grrr
So... I doubt there's going to be an easy answer for this, but is there some way that I could turn it into a HW2 by messing with the insides? Remember, I'm not the best with electronics here.

As far as I know, there isn't. Sorry you got your calc stolen. :-(

Hmm, how exactly can you determine whether your 89 is a HW1 or HW2 before you buy it?

There is no need to bother with that. TI stoped making HW1 calcs a long time ago. So as long as you don't go to a store that never sells stuff and therfore never restocks you should be fine.

Ture. Though there are some HW1 calcs still out there on the normal market. One of my Friends bought one a couple of months ago from Staples, I was stunned.

At the Staples near me I never see more than three customers in the store, but then again I don't go to Staples because there's a BestBuy two stores down :) and now there's a new BestBuy like 2.5 miles from my house instead of the old 4 miles. Now that BestBuy has changed their look I don't think they sell 89's anymore though, I even checked their website :(
