Integrated Desktop Released
Posted by Michael on 26 April 2003, 21:42 GMT

Olivier Armand has released Integrated Desktop for the 89, 92+, and Voyage 200. This piece of eye candy will add your programs as icons to the Apps Desktop that is in AMS versions 2.07 and 2.08. It has built-in icons for popular programs, but you can also create your own.

Update (Michael): A new version has been released, with a bug fix. Download it to prevent crashes.

It reminds me of a palm pilot, or any pda for that matter. I like it anyways, mostly for that reason. Too bad I don't have an 89 :(

I downloaded this a few days ago. I made my own icons though. I showed it off at school Friday. (they have to use our school's TI-82's, althoughta few have gotten to use the 'new' TI-83+'s)

They hate me since we were doing chem eqns in Chemistry and I have the Chem Eqn Solver :) . Anyone else think it fun to have an unfair advantage? ;)

Oh, yeah. In math class all the kids want to use my 89 to factor their problems. It is a real inconvience to tell them no all the time

OMG, that was so much fun, people were so ticked off at me when I could just type factor(<equation>) and be done with it. I course, I DID do the work by hand first.

What is really great, is 2.08. The desktop, which I have set because of "id", confusses the heck out of people. I let someone use it today, and I had a good chuckel at their confusion.

You could at least thank me for doing your work. :-)

Always funny when I see a programmer post something like that. Unfortunately, it's not generally me in the TI community, but if you're on campus at Ohio State it is.

I know I had an unfair advantage with my TI-89, but I made sure I could do everything my 89 did on paper without a calculator first.

And once I was confident I knew how to do it, I made a program to do whatever it was.

I never really used other people's code for math stuff--I wrote my own implicit differentiation function, integration (showing nearly all work) function, etc. I never bothered with solving chemical equations because I found that easy.

Yeah, I make sure I have the pencil-and-paper method down before using my beloved calc.

I'm a few months old to the 89, so I can only create simple functions and programs. When I run across something I can't figure how to program, I run here for answers. :)

I salute the programmers who make my life easier by sharing thier programs, or entertain me during a boring math class with addictive games games. Keep up the good work

You got the system down just fine. The only thing I recomend is every once and a while do the work out on paper to refresh your memory. Welcome to the 89 club

*cough* download KBL *cough*

Writing simple functions/programs always helps me. If I need to repeat a process over and over, that's usually what I do.

Thanks.

We're doing mole conversions in Chemistry and I have a var named AV stored as Avagadro's number (6.02E23) and some funcs to covert back and forth, it only saves about a split-second of time, but when you doing alot of such problems, it goes much quicker.

If you have an 89/92/92+/V200 just type in _Na. Its the built in version of Avagadro's #.
