Edit3D v0.96 Released
Posted by Michael on 18 March 2003, 04:18 GMT

David Coz has updated an excellent and long-overlooked program, Edit3D. Available for the 89, 92+, and Voyage 200, it is a full-featured graphics editing package. People with artistic skills (news editor excluded) can draw intricate 3-D designs in both wire-frame and solid modes. There is also texture support and the ever-impressive real time rotation.

Update (Joey): /asm/graphics/edit3d folders have been added for the 89, 92+, and V200. However, they will be kept out of ranking.

Heyy, I love what you've done with it and this version,
I was about to send you a list of bugs I encountered and there it was [v0.96], I was shocked and suprised!

Hey, I have an idea for a possible 0.97 version, is there a way that you could allow the prog. to place "more than 2 cannons, yet no more than 5" on a potential ship design, so that an X-Wing could shoot all four(4) of of its wing-cannons and 'my' B-Wing could fire all three(3) of its laser cannons ( in the game Space Dementia [v0.8])?

<Looks around> What does everybody else think about
that idea?!!

I don't think that Dave Coz (or this program) has anything to do with Space Dementia.

Actually it does. This program is used to make different ships that can be incorporated with the Space Dementia game.

I recently added a new folder for the various ships:

89/asm/games/levels/dementia

I think that is the url.

Could you make some ships from the first two episodes of Star Wars, especially the Naboo Starfighter? That would be so cool :)

Wait, isn't that the prequel to the Z-95 Headhunter?

Not really. The Z-95 Headhunter is more of a prequel to the X-Wing (haven't read enough of the books to be sure, but I believe that there is no prequel to the Z-95). As for those ships on the ice planet (Hoth, I presume, since it's the only one in the movies), I believe you're talking about snowspeeders.

Snow Speeders!, that's it!

-Well, if you look closely at queen amidala's (silver) ship, it is strikingly similar to a z-95.

I don't know ... I thought Z-95s looked pretty much like X-Wings except they didn't have the open wings ... I'm not too sure since the picture I saw of a Z-95 was from YEARS ago, so my memory's fuzzy at best.

The Errors Are Coming, the Errors are coming!!
q x  Account Info

Is there a way that when you DO get an error in the program (which I have gotten) it doesn't freeze-up the calc. nor crash it, but rather takes you back to the point where you made the mistake?

Every once in a while I get an Illegal Address(error) or an Illegal Instruction (Error), and this only happens with certain ships that I design, then it freezes when I try to save, gives me one of those errors and I have to restart it-or it restarts itself(sometimes[restarts itself]) and then all of the information is lost.

List of Ships That Give Errors:

F-16
Cessna
Mir2000
certain Helocopter designs
Large Tie Advanced
U2 Spyplane
and others in the near future I'm sure.

What's up with that?!!

Somebody help me-PLEASE!

in a way it's constructive; he's telling him to make it better by removing all the crash bugs. it might help to tell where and when it crashes.
