TI Connect v1.2
Posted by Michael on 19 February 2003, 04:22 GMT

Texas Instruments has released TI Connect v1.2. Although it adds minor features such as enhanced calculator operating system installation and app upgrading, the major update is that the USB cable now works on Windows XP! That incompatibility has been a source of complaints in the TI Discussion Groups for some time.

Download it here.

*Sigh* and I just uninstalled XP for 2000 Pro. Too bad I can't see if it really works with XP.

It works fine with Windows XP Pro SP1 for me. Now I'll uninstall it and use TiLP.

It worked fine back when I had XP Home installed, but now that I've upgraded to Pro, I can't use it. However, this does not seem to be consistent with the problems of others.

That's a nice picture, lol. And it took them a while to get this version out, I wonder if they were working on it the whole time or if they just got tired of hearing complaints :p

LOL that's a good pic ;-)

Um, will TI-connect v1.2 be faster than the previous version? I stopped using TI-connect because it was so slow. Instead, I use TI-Graph-Link.

Me too, Texas Programs sucks.
I hope everyday that someone finds a way to use piracy with their certificates, and texas makes a new OS with support for SE full ram and greyscale, well I dreaming loud, that will never happen.
By All means means its positive texas makes new software, even if its only to improve the new usb cable.

I wouldn't download this anyway. It really is not necessary if you don't have Windows XP.

Sometimes it is. The USB link cannot be used with the Graph-Link software. Of course, you can use TiLP too.

The only thing I like about it is the Group Explorer :) Otherwise, I just use the Ti-Graphlink. Heh, I'm sure glad I came when the black link was popular, I'd hate to have to get started with something that didn't even work (sometimes) :p

I don't use Ti connect, I use Tilp. I get much faster transfer speeds than with ti connect.

Tilp works fine for me, it just takes a little more work than normal. But once it is working, it's worth the effort.

This is odd: I have an XP machine and TI-Connect 1.1 works for me. Maybe it is because I have an old black TI-Graph Link that uses a 9-pin COM port.

Me too... unless i right-click a file then send it, when I get the error:
Transfer failed. A retry may be successful.
[Skip] [Retry]
Or something to that effect.
