TI-Chess v4.00 released
Posted by Niklas on 11 November 2002, 16:31 GMT
TICT have released TI-Chess v4.00 for the TI-89, TI-92+ and V200. The most important improvements are: - Multilanguage support (english/french/german/spanish).
- Opening book support: now the engine can randomly choose openings from a book if wanted.
- Training feature rewritten: now chess puzzles may come with an intregrated solution.
- Chess puzzle compiler completely rewritten: making own chess puzzles files is much easier now.
- Opening book compiler added: you can make your own opening books if wanted.
The first volume of TI-Chess puzzles has also been released (TI-89, TI-92+, V200) and if that's not enough, you can also get 2014 opening lines (TI-89, TI-92+, V200). TICT keeps updating their other programs, too: there is a new version of the TICT-Explorer, also for the TI-89, TI-92+ and V200.

THE REASON I STARTED ALL THIS SHIT IS BECAUSE I HAVE ADHD!!!!!!!!! And I get jealous of other people very easily. And that day that I first started pissing everyone off I WAS IN A VERY BAD MOOD! Last night my parents yelled at each other about homework. I take therapy for my anger. And I have bizzaire and scary dreams about plants constricting me like a boa constrictor (with their thorny vines) I wake up screaming. You know when you think about multiple thoughts before you go to sleep, animals and plants for example, and think about September 11 or the sniper case, or fear of getting stabbed to death, your thoughts mix together and get plants' thorns stabbing you and animals biting off your arm and terrorists doing 9/11 all over again except the plane hits your house. So there, a classic ADHD person.

My unbiased opinion is...
The decision was way to soft. Microsoft merely ended up with a slap on wrist and nothing major punishment wise. The justice department basically let it go, they have a few small restrictions, but they didn't do enough. This decision comes at a time when Microsoft is moving to Monopolize several important markets. It has now moved into the TV market with XP media edition, owns the tablet PC market with XP tablet edition, and is gaining massive amounts of the PDA market, since Palm is sitting on their ass's. Apple and the Linux communitiy shouldn't be affected to much by the decision, other than suppliers can now put Linux on their machines, without punishment from Microsoft. This should be good for Tux, but the way I see it, won't make that big of a difference. Apple is almost completely unaffected, since the restrictions never were the ones Apple had problems with.
My personal suggestions for what should have been included:
1. Release parts of the Windows OS Code so others could make better products reling on them.
2. Split The PocketPC os into another corporation, so that it relies upon itself, and not a crapload of money from Microsoft. If you have noticed, anything MS pust money into, it succeeds, not cause its good (*it maybe good, but thats isn't why it succeeds), but because they put a crapload of money in it, they lose some, but they have killed the competition, so they make money later, other companies can't do this. So this is unfair business practice.
3. Internet explorer Windows are seperated. You can delete IE, and it won't affect windows. In 98 and ME, I don't know about XP, the folders load like webpages, slowing down the OS, so if you delete IE(Like I did by accident) you crash windows. Make them seperate MS!
Thats it, Microsoft wins again. We are screwed now.
(Oh yeah, that was as unbiased as i can get.)
