King of the Fighters 86 Released
Posted by Niklas on 28 March 2002, 19:03 GMT
Delirious with fame from releasing Dragon Warrior, Thomas Williamson turned around and in 13 days created a fighting game. King of the Fighters 86 features AI players, 13 individual characters, a tournament mode, a stamina mode and on-calc help. Also, Thomas offers his support if you would like to take a shot at porting his game to the 83 or the 85.

There are quite a few good games on the 89/92+ in C, though I would have to agree that there are more in assembly. Some examples would be: Blobby Volley, Dr. Mario, Duke68K, Evasive, Frogger 92+, George, Insane Game, Krypton, Moonbugs, Mr. Nutz, Rodent Revenge, SkiFree, TI-Chess, and TI-MineSweeper.
The C compiler situation is quite different on the TI-86 however, as there seem to be more compilers for the TI-86 than programs compiled with them. Among other problems, the TI-86 compilers (all that I have seen, at least) generate very poor code.

Anybody have any ROM Images they could LEGALLY send me? (Yes, it is possible) I have a 82 and a 89. For the 89, I have a AMS 2.05 and the 82, I can't get it to romdump, so I need heeeeelp! (I don't think you can emulate the 73)
