Back in business!
Posted by Magnus on 9 December 2001, 14:31 GMT

We have now opened the last two sections of the archives that have been down for review - TI-92 and Mac.

This means that our archives are now back up. We are still working on putting back the ranking lists, featured programs lists, latest updates etc, but expect them to come back pretty fast, since it's basically just a matter of re-enabling things that were there before.

Our list of pending files to update is currently at more than 1000 files. We will of course work to get this down, but please be patient as we work through the queue...

Update (Magnus): FTP server has been shut back down, due to extreme abuse during the short time it was left open. We will look into solutions to limit this abuse, and hopefully we'll be able to open it back up before too long.

Do you have to fill in the pics too? It says it has failed to enter into the database... Can your file be zipped? What am I doing wrong!!!

You don't need to fill the pics, your file must be a zip-file as far I can remember.. haven't uploaded a file since september so can't garantee anything. It would be stupid to send a test file. Is there anybody who have uploaded a file recently?
I'd suggest to contact Magnus about this. Looks like you do it right.

The file upload form works great for me, except sometimes my games don't get on :( :(

Hey, now that were on the topic of this whole uploading file thing, does anyone know where the /incoming folder went in ftp.ticalc.org? I couldn't find it! Poop.

It might be a security breach, but- what kind of abuse?

Would it be possible for you to re-enable FTP access for the hosted sites, the way you used to when the archives were closed? Thank you.

SCP (secure copy) is an Unix utility to copy files from or to remote sites using a SSL-secured connection (like SSH). (I am glad I took that "Introduction to Unix" class...)

It should be available under Linux, and for Win32, there is always this link I found looking up SCP "secure copy" with Google: http://winscp.vse.cz/eng/

The only question is whether there is an SCP server up on ticalc.org.

It is an old web craze. Look for: all your base [are belong to us]. It is a line from an old game, Zero Wing, which was made in Japan. The translation was done cheaply and that is how it came out in english.
