TI Connect Announced
Posted by Eric on 18 July 2001, 11:02 GMT
I'd like to apologize for the recent lack of updates...the whole ticalc.org staff has been jetting all over the place this summer. Personally, I'm approximately 9,000 miles from my usual news-posting location (a.k.a. "home"), but anyway, onto the news. Justin Clifford sent me word of the next-generation TI-Graph Link that TI announed a little while back. It's known as TI Connect, and includes features of the TI-Graph Link software plus a bunch of new ones. Find out more information here. TI Connect is scheduled to be released at the end of this year, but of course, this estimate might change. Check it out anyway.

Interesting. Actually, just yesterday I was pondering why TI hadn’t done this yet. Yea this news is older then that, but this is the first time I’ve heard about it. The older software was being built to maintain old Win 3.0 compatibility. That worked great back when I had been using a 386 long ago but I was really wondering why they didn’t have a newer version like this. I just hope that this auto-detection only works when you have the application open and want to check for updates. I always get around to getting updates on my own anyway and I’d hate to have to fight it to keep it from hogging resources when I don’t need it. I’m not too sure I like their screenshot, but it’s only simulated anyway.
