Updates at TI
Posted by Eric on 16 March 2001, 02:35 GMT
The folks over at TI are busy indeed. They've recently remodeled their website for the first time in a long, long time (before my time, anyway). All of the old pages on www.ti.com/calc have now been incorporated into the new site, now located at http://education.ti.com/. A bunch of new software applications have also been announced and released for the TI-73, TI-83+, TI-89, and TI-92+. To find out all the latest news updates at TI, check out their Latest News page. Update (Eric): I'll also point out that TI released Beta 3 of the TI-89/92+ FLASH Studio SDK yesterday (3/15/01). You can register and download it here. Thanks to Sean Barnes for letting me know.

Now, I know that there are people who like the new site, but I just don't like it one bit. I mean, just the way it looks is enough to turn me away. It looks as if it was designed for a six year old child, or perhaps a teacher who is new to computers.
I think TI should keep the old site up, like at www.ti.com/calc/oldsite or something. They don't update it enough for it to be a hassle anyways. Who agrees with me?

Now that's interesting. There's a lot less load time. Plus the place looks better and less confusing to navigate.

I'm 13. Bets I'll graduate before these apps are released?
TI takes too long to do anything... And they shouldn't always make only apps. For the 83+ you only have 10. Programs you can have many more- a 2k program is 16k as an app. Then again, if its 24k+ an app is better
This is all for the 83+. Don't know about other calcs

Have you noticed the new linking program from TI that is "scheduled" to come out at the end of this year? It is supposed to be able to handle the USB cord for PC's.
BTW: PC's are the best, and Macs totally suck.
