Happy Pi Day!
Posted by Eric on 14 March 2001, 06:08 GMT
Today's always a festive day around these parts...after all, it's Pi Day (3/14), perhaps our favorite holiday around here (rivaled only, of course, by e Day and Mole Day). So anyway, before I head off for a heavy dose of pi celebrations, I'll point you all to last year's article, which contains lots of wholesome information about everyone's favorite number, courtesy of our own Andrew Selle. So...yeah, Happy Pi Day! Update (Eric): And while we're on the subject, let's take a moment to salute those die-hard Pi celebrators—just take a look at this loyal reader and Pi Day devotee. Goes to show you that all your pi are indeed belong to us. Note: ticalc.org will not be held responsible for any mishaps that may arise due to unsuccessful stunts performed in the name of Pi Day.

I'm not totally psychotic, I only know about 20 digits of pi (most of which I memorized from reading a FoxTrot comic too many times)
I just know 3.14159265358979323846
My math teacher gave us suckers in class today in honor of pi day
But worst of all was my science teacher last year who dressed up in thick glasses all like the stereotypical nerd for mole day (Oct. 23/10^23).

Two things. First, my friend brought me an apple pie with 3.14 in candles and the decimal was a M&M.
Next, get the super pi calculator (Win32) here:

A lot of fuss about this PI-day. A friend of mine even called me and sang a pi-song just because it was pi-day.

To celebrate, I let my 92+ (with help from the picalc program) calculate 10,000 digets of pi. I posted that on two boards in my school.

Well we here in Canada take Pi Day a little too far.
Check www.Punk-Ass.com/Math Street Boys-TellMePi.mp3
The song was done by my school's math department. Enjoy!
