Happy Pi Day!
Posted by Eric on 14 March 2001, 06:08 GMT
Today's always a festive day around these parts...after all, it's Pi Day (3/14), perhaps our favorite holiday around here (rivaled only, of course, by e Day and Mole Day). So anyway, before I head off for a heavy dose of pi celebrations, I'll point you all to last year's article, which contains lots of wholesome information about everyone's favorite number, courtesy of our own Andrew Selle. So...yeah, Happy Pi Day! Update (Eric): And while we're on the subject, let's take a moment to salute those die-hard Pi celebrators—just take a look at this loyal reader and Pi Day devotee. Goes to show you that all your pi are indeed belong to us. Note: ticalc.org will not be held responsible for any mishaps that may arise due to unsuccessful stunts performed in the name of Pi Day.

It`s actually a reason for double celebration since it`s also the birthday of a bloke called Albert Einstein

"nickd Returns to Shamelessly Plug Website"
CHICAGO (ASIM)— nickd was once again spotted on the ticalc.org message boards today, saying something about his calculus final, the irrational number known as "pi", and of course, his website.
Eric Sun could not be reached for comment, but fellow Pi Day celebrator Andy Selle said, "nickd's just pops up every once in awhile and plugs his website. It's quite sad actually."
When reached for comment, Magnus Handler mumbled something about "those crazy Americans" and promptly hung up.
March 14, also known to geeks and nerds as "Pi Day", for it falls on 3-14 (well, at least according to how Americans write their dates..). Possible celebrations are mentioned in the article written last year by the infamous nickd (one obvious suggested celebration includes "brining a pie to one's math class").
