TxtRider v1.0 Beta 96
Posted by Nick on 19 March 2000, 23:03 GMT

Marc Teyssier has released a new version of TxtRider for both the 89 and the 92 Plus. The most important update to this version (v1.0 Beta 96) is the addition of a feature that will remember the last file opened. Also, images are now displayed properly. AMS v2.03 is also now supported, so I've heard.
Thanks go out to Ti-Fr for this one.

yes , it's true...
This program is a good reason to stop playing games and start working a little . I think I will try it . Is there any way to write a text in your PC and see it in your calc with Txtrider ?

There are some win95/98 editors in the "windows utilities" archive category but I advise you to try a new one I just finished : Ridedit. It is nearly 100% compatible with the ti characters and you can easily insert the TxtRider tags. It is unbelievably speedy. Of course it can use the 89T files.

yes , but what I want is to avoid inserting txtrider tags . I want something as a wordpad , but adapted to
the TI89 textrider.

So what does it do? Is it just a really good text editor?

well i wouldn't say editor... because you can't really edit the files except from the ti's original text editor (you could tell the author to put it in next time...). But, once you edit the file in the text editor (which isn't that hard once you learn how to use the formatting techniques for txtrider), you can view it in txtrider. this gives you a lot more features, such as viewing pretty print, images, scrolling a LOT faster and easier than in the text editor... it's useful if you want to give out a readme file and you know the person has txtrider installed, you can make impressive looking text files...

anyway i know it's not that great but i think you should get it... so anyway those are the features.

I love it!

If there is a quick way to call the TI editor from Txtrider, I'd like to be able to use it.
(Thanks so much for the addition of remember last
document, that helps a whole lot when editing the
text)
Maybe there is a way to use the [2nd][APPS] feature to switch between txtrider and txteditor?

This might take a while, but it would REALLY be helpful and cool if Marc created a text editor to go along with txtrider (so that we don't have to type in # and & commands in ti's weak text editor)... is that possible at all in the future?

Well I'm using a HW2 AMS 2.03 89... are you sure you're talking about PPRider? The thing that converts your I/O screen to a pic file? TxtRider works fine for me, it's just the pprider thing.

NO NO NO everyone, let's get this straight. TxtRider works fine. ok? OK. txtrider works, but the PPrider thing that it includes doesn't work on 2.03 (for me anyways). PP rider, not TXT rider.

IMPORTANT!!!!

Actually, no it doesn't. I seems to work fine at first but there are still a few bugs in the program. when veiwing a document you can get kicked out. When trying to run it from the homescreen your calculator can freeze, AND (though this may be a programing mistake and not a bug, because this happened in txtrider for AMS1.00) the "+or-" thing, you know where the plus sign is on top of the minus, when veiwing it under small text "#1" it appears ONLY as a plus but a bit high, certainly enough room to add the minus sign under it.
Other than that, I think it's ok.
