TxtRider v1.0 Beta 96
Posted by Nick on 19 March 2000, 23:03 GMT

Marc Teyssier has released a new version of TxtRider for both the 89 and the 92 Plus. The most important update to this version (v1.0 Beta 96) is the addition of a feature that will remember the last file opened. Also, images are now displayed properly. AMS v2.03 is also now supported, so I've heard.
Thanks go out to Ti-Fr for this one.

I must say (pathetically) that this is the one program I've been waiting for sicne the release of AMS 2.03... I needed the stat editor, and yet TxtRider was so hard to give up. Finally, both can work =)

I literally shouted "YES!" out loud when I noticed it posted. Thanks a lot! (and great job on the program!)

This program excites me ;)

Ideas:

be able to show blinking text by using a modified greyscale library [see A89 mailing list... discussion about palette shifting]

Be able to support plugins...
Assign screenspace to another app and let it draw there. [Plugins might be for vector graphics or an animation, or pixle placed text... hehehe Callegari Geometry viewing??]

Grayscale [Please sombody look into 3 plane 4 color 121212 13131313 12121212 greyscale lib]

Background image.

[I am reading up on ti asm to oneday help with these awsome apps)

DoorsOS II v0.95

oh, the speed setting didn't take effect untill my calc was restet... then after reinstalling TxtRider the speed went down to the Super Low speed that I had set it to and then it wouldn't go back up.

I uninstalled Doors, reinstalled it, TxtRider still acted wierd.

Then I uninstalled Doors again and reXmited Doors and TxTrider from my computer and it worked... only when I uninstalled and reXmited did it start working right.

This still happens though: I hold down the up arrow at the top of document and it magically takes me to Break Points. (this is repeatable). Then I get out of breakpoints and push up somore, Then I get dropped into the homescreen.

The speed settings work now (not much diff in speed though.

I also noticed Doors Explorer hanging up when I was getting these symptoms. (does having multiple copies of a library goof doors up? I had 1set archived, 1not)

Are you sure you're using the latest version of ziplib included in DoorsOS v0.95 ?

Hey, I don't know if anyone here was reading the article about Nick's web-domain(actually, it wasn't an article, the discussion just drifted...)
But I thought if you really want to argue about $35/year domain's, then you should know this:
www.totalnic.net (i think that's right)
sells/registers domains for $35. FOR TWO YEARS. Each year after the first two that you have to buy, is only $17.50
isn't that just wonderful?
there you go Nick. now you can save all that wonderful money...just to waste it on something else...
life's like a box of chocolates...
Steve

Ha ha, in the UK we can get .co.uk and .org.uk addresses for free :P

Not that that's a good thing, though. Certain very sad individuals write very sad sites (like tomford.co.uk). You should be glad you have to pay.

Does anyone have any idea why assembly authors now continually downgrade from the good looking black pop up window (like TxtRider's old browser window and help window) to the bulky, disgusting looking round dialog boxes? If it's a space issue (can anyone tell I don't know assembly at all? =) I wouldn't really mind an extra half kilobyte to make the interface look nicer.

Besides, has anyone noticed the edges of the dialog boxes? I think what TI-OS does is they draw a white rectangle first, and then add the "rounded" curves to make it look round, and when these things are against a black background, you can see the little triangle...

ugh. Why can't TI make its interfaces more eyepleasing? I mean, if you look at the menus, none of them completely cover the top menu boxes - the only "good" menus I've seen made were in FF7 and also basiclib's menu.

Anyway... just venting after finding out that txtrider, like ziplib, now uses the TI-OS dialog boxes... the programs are still fine, tho. (in fact, I basically worship txtrider... now, if only endive and candyman would make a new AMS 2.03 version of basiclib... that would rock)

^_^ Arkane.
