Ion86

Icarus Productions has given me a great present for my birthday--albeit unwittingly :). For all you TI-86 fans out there (such as myself), you'll be pleased to know that Clem Vasseur has released Ion86, a great new program that emulates TI-83 Ion programs on your 86. Matthew Shepcar helped out by writing the .COM file included that converts the Ion programs to a compatible .86s format, and also by providing the TI-83 emulation core from Rascall. Thanks a ton to Clem and Matt for providing a great new program for all the 86-philes.

Just a silly question... How much does a TI83, TI83+, TI86, TI89 cost out there in the States?? Here in Europe I think they're a lot more expensive... Thanks

Hmmm...I wonder if, similar to the 68K program NEcalc, it would be possible to store 83 (or for that matter 85/82) programs on the 86 and then send them to the corresponding calculator?...

you guys are a fags.
i'm really getting sick of this ti community bull shit.
all you guys do it say how retarded one guy is for saying what he sees to be true.
i think that games for calculators suck just about as much as wasting time to put them on and play them.
I sick of this. this will be the last time i ever download any asm game from any ti site.
oh yeah, and i like this one, "don't critisize the programmer, they did their best..." that's a great excuse for a sucky program. i'd just as some write progs for anything i need in basic. and not screw with poorly written asm or even basic programs. i don't need you specialized asm games and shit.
just so the "community" knows, i'm out. i tired of this not stop 1st grade bichering.

ps, it is the programmers fault.

OK, maybe I can be the voice of reason. Here's the main thing.
1) The ti86 is more expensive.
2) The ti86 can do more stuff.
3) The ti86 menu system is harder for newbies but much faster once you work out how to use it.
4) You can fit a decent backlight on the ti86. That makes the screen much easier to read.
5) Both calculators have bad cases.
6) FLASH chews up batteries.
7) It's easier to make an expander for the ti86 than the ti83.
8) The ti89/ti92s are banned in tests in the UK.
9) The ti86 is upgradable.
10) The ti86 can be a ti83.
I have used both calculators. I found the ti83 easier to use but the ti86 is much more powerful (in terms of ready-written stuff - the processor is only 0.16MHz faster).
You have the right to choose. The ti86 has more games (and emulates other calculators). The ti86 has a higher screen resolution. The 16 byte screen is equal to 2^4.
Please calm down, and if you have to flame me at least don't do it in uppercase.

I just think most of yell need to get a real life. And who cares that a ti-86 can emulate ion83 programs besides ti-83+ owners, I think its a waste of time to complan about it when one of yell ti-83+ people could be attempting to make a emulator for the it-86 programs
