TI-84 Plus CE POTY voting opens
Posted by Travis on 17 December 2018, 20:28 GMT

The TI-84+CE POTY poll is now open (not to be confused with the TI-84+CSE poll, which has just closed), and it's another two-way competition! Your vote counts, so be sure to get it in before next Monday.

With the number of amazing C and ICE programs I've seen published in the community for the TI-84 Plus CE, I'm somewhat shocked that there are only two contenders!

Well, not everybody uploads their work to ticalc.org in the first place, which reduces the set of candidates ;)
Maybe staff members of the other community sites should spend more time suggesting authors of interesting work uploaded to their sites to upload said work to ticalc.org as well ? Years ago, we TI-Planet admins did that, and it helped yield good results for at least a couple POTY rounds, hammering poor Ryan, especially, with a flurry of newsing activity in November :)

But yes, there should definitely have been more TI-eZ80 contenders this year. As I wrote on IRC, the next news item in the pipeline is a TI-eZ80 one. It fell off beyond the POTY deadline because several days before that, I was too busy with my day job to finish writing it...

Also, FWIW, your choice of words could make them read as criticism, possibly of the non-constructive form ;)

I too was somewhat surprised that only 2 CE programs were featured this year - considering this appears to be the segment with the most activity at present.

I guess we need to encourage more people to upload to ticalc.org (in addition to other sites) and as a community we need to send in feature requests where applicable to ensure noteworthy programs aren't missed.

(Also I don't think Kerm meant that as a criticism, I certainly didn't see it that way)
