Bowling for News
Posted by Michael on 29 August 2007, 23:45 GMT

The last time that calculator news was scarce, we posted an article retroactively featuring a program already in our archives that had for one reason or another been overlooked when it was released. Today we present a program that was uploaded in March.

[Bowling]Bowling is an 83+ BASIC game in the form of a BasicBuilder flash application. The game is meticulous in detail, featuring multiple styles of play, several player capabilities, an equipment shop and more, all of which make Bowling sure to please the calculator bowling enthusiast.

There may be few news, but there are plenty of new programs waiting: <quote>Current load of pending files is heavy (281 files)</quote>. (I noticed this while I was uploading the new version of 'Clock Hook'.) On 30 August there was one program added, why...?

"sure to please the calculator bowling enthusiast."

Wow...OK. I wonder how many "calculator bowling enthusiasts" there are out there.

--I had a BASIC calculator bowling game... it used a style of moving the ball and then lining it up with the pins. I took a ruler and drew a line on my screen with a pencil that cross through both the ball and the moving cursor, and into the pocket, so getting 300 was way too easy. This bowling game is more challenging!
--Back on Calc RPG's, Why won't TVF (The Verdante Forest) be ported to 89TI? I cannot find a 83-84 emulator for it, and I still havent beaten the game yet! TVF is one heck of a good RPG that I've played.

Way back when I first came into the community, one of my favorite games (for whatever reason) was Ben Ilegbodu's Bowling for TI-83. Countless hours of eighth grade were spent playing this game, and it's a pretty fond memory of mine, so I guess you could call me a calculator bowling enthusiast. My webpage link goes to the game.

That is similar to the basic one I found, but the one I have is horizontal, opposed to that vertical one. Based off the same concept though. Still very easy to nail 12 consecutive strikes!
