Pearls for the 83+
Posted by Michael on 13 August 2006, 01:07 GMT
Joel Seligstein has released an entertaining and frustrating little game for the 83+ called Pearls. The objective is to draw a continuous non-intersecting line that passes through every pearl. There are rules about where it must turn after passing through white and black pearls, adding to the challenge. There is also an 83 version available.

Good job Joel! A new creative game.
does it work with the TI-83+ emulator for the TI-89? If it does then I might actually get to play it!

For a second I though I'd be able to program the 83+ with Perl, oh well. Looks like a nice game though!

Being able to write C/C++ programs for your calculator isn't a matter of making it "compatible", it's that you need a good compiler. For the 68k calcs, there's TIGCC, and for the Z80s, you can use z88dk. On the Z80 calcs it's not really worth it, though, since from the little I've done with it it seems like it can't do much (probably better on other platforms). Also, with the limited memory and processing power, it's not going to be very efficient either, so overall if you've got an 83+ it's better to just learn assembly.
