A Summer of Calculators

Some of you may be familiar with the Google Summer of Code project. Sponsored by Google, the Summer of Code provides a $4,500 stipend to students 18 years or older who work on an open source project. Students work under the guidance of a mentoring organization. For the 2006 Summer of Code, Detached Solutions has applied and been chosen as a mentoring organization. Interested students can visit the Summer of Code page. This is a nice way to spend your summer programming calculators and get paid for it.

The signup form is now active (check Website link above, or it's linked from Google's SoC page). You can submit proposals now through May 8th. Good luck to all those who apply!
