A Summer of Calculators
Posted by Michael on 25 April 2006, 03:06 GMT

Some of you may be familiar with the Google Summer of Code project. Sponsored by Google, the Summer of Code provides a $4,500 stipend to students 18 years or older who work on an open source project. Students work under the guidance of a mentoring organization. For the 2006 Summer of Code, Detached Solutions has applied and been chosen as a mentoring organization. Interested students can visit the Summer of Code page. This is a nice way to spend your summer programming calculators and get paid for it.

Way to be prompt with the post. Hopefully we'll see something notable again to come out of this project. :)

Quoting myself from a few posts down:
"I've been waiting for some Sourceforge issues to be resolved. I want to seperate the 1.2 code and the current 1.3 beta code, and there are some other organizational issues which will simpler with a CVS repository. If sourceforge continues to cause trouble, I will just zip up some code and upload it somewhere prior to the start of SoC."

I am over 81, but I'll probably be working for the Evil Empire across the lake (http://www.microsoft.ee/).

C'mon, just because he's 81, doesn't mean he's too old to program for calculators. Think of all the history he knows!

Our internet host has be spotty all day. I don't think it's got anything to do with traffic levels, I think they're just having some issues. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
