January/February/March Newsletter Released
Posted by Michael on 1 April 2006, 03:39 GMT
Having run out of suitable adjectives to describe our newsletter editor, I will simply say that "lazy bum Jon" has finally published the ticalc.org newsletter for January - March. To add to his humiliation, he wrote "an open-source Windows emulator on Linux" instead of "an open-source program that allows you to execute Windows programs on Linux." Open source fanatics: Attack!

Nice April Fool.
But at least, just put a tiny tiny link to the real site...

Nice newsletter (which I originally thought was going to be an April Fool's joke on top of anoh April Fool's joke to catch me off guard).
I like the suggestions for programs to be made this year (let's see how many of them actually show up). Some good laughs in the humor section. Looking foreward to the next newsletter (when it does come out(.

My first reaction was that ticalc.org finally decided to change the look of their site (before I took a closer look at the fake page). :-)
Ironically, I was just about to come to ticalc.org to see what their April Fools joke was this time. But in the several minutes it took me to do it (I was doing several other things at the same time, so it took a while), I sort of forgot the reason I was coming in the first place. So I was close to being fooled this time, but I knew what was happening after a couple of seconds.

By the way, the fake index page is cool. I definitely recognize the "popular searches". ;-)

>>So in short:: TI-projects may help you get a job!
It certainly helped me. When I interviewed for my job, I met with 6 people over 4 hours (5 engineers and 1 HR) and I spent a 1/2 of it talking about various assembly languages (68k, atmel, 6800, z80, sparc).
