If you don't mind me asking... is there a way that the programmer can make one that can transfer variables and stuff not only between the 83/84+/SE family and the 68k calculators... for example: transmitting variables and stuff between the 86 to and from the 68k family? I wonder if that works. If not, then I guess I'll have to wait for a future release of your program. Thanks!

Just an FYI: it is possible to do - there just needs to be a programmer who knows both calculators fairly well and the link protocols.
Bleh, I'd like to see a silent linking program for all calculators + X Link so you can leech files from another calc by just connecting the cable to it or send files.

Yes, it is possible, and it's very possible to port X-Link to the 86. If enough people want this, I might think about it. But, since the 86 only has so much memory, it might make more sense to just have it on the 83/84 series.

At one time (during my mind-boggling five year try at this), I considered putting in a "Request All" function to silently grab all the files from the other calculator, but I decided against it.

Though I can't remember why, I don't think I ever got it to work either. I think I'll have to test it again some time... (I knew about that file.)

That sounds like my UniLink program (which I have yet to get around to finishing; version 0.3 alpha is on my hard drive, 0.2 alpha is here). It seems someone has beat me to it, if indeed that program (the TI-89 one) works. Oh, well.

The problem is, it doesn't. It seems no one here has gotten it to work.

So keep working on it. We'd all appreciate a version that can link to a TI-83+ series calculator.

Personally, I believe it was far too critical of the author's efforts. These are the types of reviews that can discourage authors from developing for the TI community.

If you really must write a negative review, provide objective and constructive comments. Ticalc is veiwed all over the world. Don't tarnish the image.

If I were Ticalc staff member, I would delete that review.

i know this guy personally. he has always disliked Faraday Anywhere.

I can't seem to locate that file. His author profile says that he didn't create anything of that sort.

That's already in the TI-OS.

No, it isn't. You can't link to a 73 at all, and you can only send L1-L6 to an 82. An 82 *might* be able to send more back the other way, I don't remember.

The 83+ manual clearly states:

"You can transmit from a TI-83 Plus to a TI-73 lists, real numbers, pics, real list data stored in L1 through L6 and named lists."

Also:

"You can transfer from a TI-82 to a TI-83 Plus all variables and programs. Also, you can transfer from a TI-83 Plus to a TI-82 real lists L1 through L6 with up to 99 elements."

Does this do silent linking?
