Death Rally for the 83+
Posted by Michael on 10 August 2004, 17:38 GMT
Patai Gergely has uploaded the final version of his 83 Plus racing game, Death Rally - The Duel. It is not complete and he has encouraged anyone with an interest to finish it. At the present stage of development, it already features realistic looking graphics and physics. Those interested can find the source code in the program zip.
Despite its current state, Death Rally is quite playable for all users to enjoy and so I would encourage you to try it even if you have no interest in working on a new version.

Is this because there are insurmountable difficulties in completing it or is the author simply uninterested in it? Or worse (for the health of the collective brain), is he retiring?
It seems like it would work, from the readme, but not being a gamer, I probably missed some subtle signs :).

Well that's a great project... the PC game was good and I'm surprised someone would try to port it... It looks good, too bad it isn't finished...

Am I going crazy? Is that gray, or is VTI doing a bad job with the picture taking?

When I saw this headline in the slashdot slashbox, I assumed that the community was holding a cerimony to mark the 83+'s move into obsolescence (thanks to the 84+, for those of you who live in caves most of the year). Perhaps we should do something to mark the occasion a little late?
