Nothing firm, but if you can pick up some 1500-2000 new ratings, I'll increase the priority :-)

I don't know if I've even downloaded 1500-2000 programs... but I'd say 500 might be a good guess.

To tell you the truth, I'd say that if you implemented the ratings, the priority of rating files would be higher, because we would see the result of our "labor." Funny how that works: If we rate more, you'll implement, and if you implement, we'll rate more...oooh the irony of it all...

But an average rating will be meaningless until there are lots of ratings for the file. I think that the average rating should only show up for a particular file when the file has at least five votes. It should also tell how many people rated the file.

Absolutely. Say only one person rates "Vector Space" and thought it sucked, so gives it a 2. Every one else who downloaded it thought it was awesome, but never rated the file. Therefore the rating stays at 2. If the number of votes is listed, it results in a more accurate statistic.

Example:

100% of dentists prefer Aquafresh to Crest in a private survey*

* Survey based upon population of 2 dentists who may or may not have a degree in destistry.
