Star Wars; Space Shoot Out
Posted by Michael on 4 January 2004, 17:27 GMT
Two space games for the 89 have been released: The first is Star Wars by Vincent Corfdir. It's a shoot-em-up featuring the X-Wing and Snow Speeder craft from the movie, and runs on the 92+ and Voyage 200 as well. Secondly, Greg Miller has released Space Shoot Out, requiring a kernel such as PreOS. Each of the six levels is played with a story regarding your mission, then the goal is to defeat the enemies and the boss. In comparison to the popular game Phoenix, Space Shoot Out has the shop available during play for upgrades at nearly any time.

Why does Space Shoot Out require a kernel? I don't see any reason why this is using kernel mode.

Umm, this does seem to be a little easy. I mean, I was able to get the "Doom" wepon on the third stage. Not to mention, it is kind of slow.
Even with out the repeating key glitch in VTI, I would still be doing as well as I am doing. Speaking of which, thanks to the glitch I am playing the game tight now, and doing quite well.

Hey, yeah I’m sorry about it being easy - I kept fiddling with prices - however whenever someone tested the game.. they didn't get a lot of money so I thought that they were fair even thought it was easy for me, but i am the designer.. Anyway what is the repeating key glitch? Also is there anything you do like, ie: story, bosses, shop... This was, after all, my first full tigcc game ever so obviously my skills will grow with each project - and I am planning a sequel in grayscale and a level-parsing engine so I don't have to waste prog mem with built in levels.. thus I cant make 12 levels and a steeper level of difficulty. Anyway I hope you do enjoy SSO, and I thank you all for the feedback, so I can make better games in the future!
