Link Cable Made From Phone CordPosted by Nick on 7 September 1999, 03:04 GMT
Chris Bunting of Fission2Labs approached us with a clever idea recently: a link cable made from a normal phone cord. According to Chris, he's had perfect transmissions from cables as long as a hundred feet. Many projects from them are under development but one of their other finished inventions (it's in the alpha stage) are their LED lights for a display screen. The whole site is definitely worth a read. | |

I wonder how much the radio link would cost to build...
I know that a radio link has been brought up on the mailing lists many times and it would be interesting if someone got it to work.

I hope it's not too complicated, I don't know much about serial communication or radios.

IMHO, the radio link would be a lot more usefull than the telephone cable link, I just hope they're not so busy making phone cables they don't have time to make any radio links.

 ok, that's enough for now.

Since ticalc.org is more important than my chemistry homework, I'll ask a question here instead of doing necessary work:
Just a crazy notion here, but could I call my friend up and send programs to his/her calculator? Someone should try that :)
