has anyone actually *read* it? I just finished, and it's pretty entertaining. Starts off slow, but finishes off a little too fast for me. (Yeah I'm slow when it comes to ASM. :). I liked the comparisons of commands to animate real-life objects. And I'm still a little confused about the registers, what they do, what are their purpose, etc. I'd like to see some sections of code explained out, that we can relate to in a game... so, "this next set of 20 lines describes how the guy in BomberBloke moves left." Stuff we can imagine. :)

Yeah, the spelling is pretty bad. Also, the table seems to run over into the right blue border - anyone else have this problem?

I noticed the text problem too. I think it's an html coding problem where the tables and such are the wrong size. You'll notice that the whole page is centered with respect the WHOLE area to the right of the sitemap and not just the white part. I think the ticalc.org people could fix it rather easily if they noticed it.

Hopefully this teaching document will increase the # of summited programs. It usually does.

The spelling on these message boards is absolutely atrocious. But perhaps this "teaching document" will increase the number of submitted programs. We all hope that it shall be so.

There are plenty of good 86 ASM tutorials out there already. I wish someone would focus on ti89-specific tutorials instead. That would be something I (and others) could really use.

Yep, lets do it for the 89!... It seems to me that the z80 programmers don't mind sharing their knowledge unlike the 68k programmers. I have only seen one tutorial on A68k at Dimension Ti...

I think that someone really needs to give more information on "sprites" and grey scale for the 68k series.

The 89 is a fairly new machine. Give it some time and there will be more stuff for it. When the 86 came out, it didn't instantly have tons of stuff for it.

Has anybody else noticed that the table is waaaay messed up? A big chunk of the article is off the right side of the screen, out in the blue are where it's essentially unreadable.
Seems odd that ticalc.org didn't edit the article a bit; they would've at least taken care of the spelling errors if they'd bothered to look at it.

I have netscape 4.5 for win95, and it shows up perfectly. Maybe you're running at the wrong resolution (I use 800x600). BTW, I don't have an 86, or have much interest in programming in ASM, although I am pretty good at basic, if only for my own use, but this is an excellent column. Keep up the good work, except maybe w/ a spell check next time. :)

I use ie5 and it's out in the blue for me.

I suppose they could have improved upon it's looks, but it's still a good tutorial and it's certainly not unreadable.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that he meant to say "area", not "air".
