Bomberbloke v0.92 Beta released
Posted on 7 February 1999, 22:23 GMT
Matthew Shepcar of Icarus Productions has released the first public beta of Bomberbloke for the TI-86. This is a complete remake of the popular game, Bomberman, for the TI-86. In addition to single player mode, Bomberbloke supports up to four plays and features many powerups. This is a 10-level preview version, but you can expect another version to be out soon.

Link bug, possible solutions

When I play BomberBloke linkmode through shells, it almost always locks up. (My 86 rom 1.2, vs my friend's 86 rom 1.6).
When we run straight out of the TI-OS asm(bomber, it doesn't lock up as often.
When my rom 1.2 vs my other friend's rom 1.3, we have even fewer crashes. I hate ?'s, I never pick them up. :) I just bomb em away, and shields are ghey, imo, thats why we always disable them before playing multiplayer.
4-player link-up rocks, dunno what you guys are 'on'. :)

Matthew Shepcar, or Shep as he is called by those of us privelidged to know him personally, is the finest programmer on any platform extant in the world today. Some of you may have experienced his
earlier contribution to the TI calc world,
"PeaWorm", an addictive game of skill and daring.
Shep recently had university exams, and was allowed by uni rules to take a dictionary in with him to translate between assembler and English.

since it is said that Andreas Ess is porting the game to the 85, it seems like it is talking a very long time. I guess the languages are very different.

Hey Matt,
Excellent Game! It occupies a permanent spot on my 86 alongside Rascall and the TI Advanced Stat Application. Also, Rascall is the best and most stable shell for the 86 that I have used. I never get a crash with it! But, D'OH! I want Clem's Mosaic Shell to come out! Hey ACZ Guys! Could you send me some info about it?? Oh, one more thing... I just love stringing bombs together in the game and nuking everything in sight!! (Except my character, of course.) Fire's cool, huh huh huh. Yeh, heh heh, Fire! Fire! You said it, Butthead!!! Shut up, Beavis, huh huh huh. I am the great Cornholio! Need T.P. for my bunghole! Shut up, Beavis! (Oops, got carried away...) :)

Cool game. it stands right up their mario, and tetris. i play it all the time. i also have a few comments...
1.)STOP ASKING FOR THE FRICKING PORTS!!! i know its nice to play a good game on a variaty of calcs, but let them decide to port it.
2.)my spelling is not the best, so LAY OFF!!!!
3.) STAY ON THE SUBJECT!!!!!!!! i get annoyed when your talking about bomberman, and you end up talking about zelda.
4.) To the programers: fix the timer. IMO i think it's to fast.
5.)fix the bomb explosion.after a bomb went off, i walked out and got flamed when there was no explosion left!!
6.)Nothing really....

Obviously one of the best games by Matt Shepcar,
this game is dominant. Mario and ZTetris are still ranked number 1 along with BomberBloke.
Hey Matt, since you've been programming action type games, are you planning on programming any RPGs for the TI-86? Of course the others were great but tedious. Some of the controls were very
confusing.
But in general, Bomberbloke is highly regarded as one of Matt Shepcar's best games. Thanks again Matt.

Is the scoring for link mode supposed to differ so drastically compared to single player mode? I have had the same problem as everyone else (freezing), and it is ONLY when i get a ? powerup. BTW, if you didn't know, there is a list of powerups with graphics in the help menu...
