There are already 2 versions of RAM out 1.00 and 1.01. I looked a TI site and it doesn't give any more information. So would this upgrade mine at 1.00 to 1.01 or stay the same?

Are you sure you aren't confusing yourself with the TI-92 Plus? Version 1.01 is out for the 92+ but the 89 is only version 1.0.

Your almost correct, you say the Flash upgrade information off of this site and no it makes no sence why TI would release an older version that then one currently available but if you have a calculator with 1.01 in it surely dont use that upgrade or you will be sorry.

Go to Calculators on this site "Ticalc" and then go to TI-89. Near the bottom it says the ROM versions. 1.00 and 1.01.

That was a typo on the TI-89 page. It should only say ROM version 1.00.

Who''s going to be the first to hack it?
AK

So, who's going to be the first to make a funky version of the ROM? I would, except I'm both stupid AND lazy, which makes it rather difficult. Anyone else want to try it?

What kind of stuff are the putting in these roms updates? increased speed? better mem management? new features? bug fixes?

otherwise there is no reason to upgrade just for the number. so there must be something.

I work for the Miscrosoft Development team for Windows CE. We are working on a ROM version for the TI-89 that takes out the calculator functions and leaves the Windows CE OS there. Plans for the new OS include built in Internet Explorer and MS Word applications. Release is scheduled for late November.

Thats interesting, considering "microsoft.development.com" isnt a real domain, and all the microsoft developers have emails @microsoft.com. Why do you feal it necessary to post bs on here?

Before you start spouting off take it from me. NOT all Microsoft developers have @microsoft.com email addresses. In fact, no offsite developers do. Must offsite developers have @msdn.com for the microsoft developers network. These are people who either make microsoft products or design products based on some part of another MS programs code. Next time know before you speak, not all MS employees are created equal.

But it is obvious that he is full of BS! I mean, why bother even trying to defend him?

wow this guy's a dumbass.. he "works" for microsoft and spelled his own company name wrong. This shows how gay he is in posting a pointless comment.

Something like this would be cool, and I am sure we have all thought about it, I remember the discussions on the old calcs. The problem is CE is for a whole different type of processor, and uses a lot more RAM and ROM.
This could lead to real customized features though.

windows ce was not designed for any specific processor, but was written entirely in C, so that it could easily be ported to several different processors. the problem with available memory still exists, though. windows ce requires at least 4mb ROM and at least 2mb RAM

Press F1 at the Home Screen to pull down the Tools menu.

Press A to select About (Or you can scroll to the bottom to find About my hand).

A window pops up and somewhere or the other, it'll tell you the ROM version and date it was released.
