Attention span: 7/10 Marginally worse than the actual game on which it is based. After a while you figure out the method. Controls: 8/10 The standard controls. Implementation: 5/10 It doesn't have the feel of the actual puzzle. Overall: 6/10 Good graphics but certainly not worth the enormous amount of space.
Fifteen is based on the standard puzzle which looks like this when it is solved:
This game certainly does exhaust the Fifteen idea. It allows you to shuffle pictures, or to use numbers. Using ALPHA, you can see what the final result is supposed to look like. And, like all of BearSoft's games, it is heavily loaded with graphics. I have a few complaints about this game, however. First of all, the graphics are not worth the space (9145 bytes). Speaking of space, it is commonly accepted that TI-86 assembly programs should not exceed the size of 9000 bytes, and this one goes over that limit. This could cause some problems, especially when running the program from a shell. Finally, there is just something about actually having this particular puzzle in my hand that is much better than having it on the calculator. I must say, however, as an example of graphics programming, this game gets five stars. |
