Graphics: 9/10
Remember Final Fantasy 4...
Gameplay: 6/10
Key detection is a little slow. Cannot cancel battle commands.
Storyline: 8/10
Not much of it but it keeps many Final Fantasy elements as well as a character from FFIV (Rydia).
Replay value: 8/10
If you loved the game, why not?
Overall: 7.75/10
Still some bugs, but more enjoyable than before and filled with awesome graphics. |

Final Fantasy is great! If you like a long RPG for your calc, this is the one for you. Gameplay is fun and challenging, and leveling up is rewarding. Money is also a plus. For the leveling up, my suggestion is to use a rubber band on the [2nd] button for battling.
Graphics: 9.5/10 There are amazing graphics in this game. If it were in grayscale, this would be a marketable game - it is just so good
Gameplay 8/10 Leveling up is tedious, but other than that, it is great
Memory 6/10 Very large and since the game saves need to be in RAM, you may lose some saves.
Overall 8/10 A great game to download. It is addictive and fun. |

This is a game based on Final Fantasy I for Regular Nintendo. It's definitely one of the best RPG's for the TI-83+.
Gameplay: 10/10 Typical Final Fantasy gameplay: you move around and go into battles, level up, buy new weapons and items, and defeat boss. This is very long for a calc; it took me about 5 hours to beat it.
Controls: 9/10 Pretty good, although sometimes buttons don't respond when pressed. Since this isn't a tense action game, it doesn't really get annoying. Otherwise, Great!
Graphics: 10/10 The best part of this game, in my opinion, everything is very detailed. There is also a large variety of enemies, all drawn nicely.
Overall: 9/10 Great game, a few bugs, kind of large because there are several maps you need, but otherwise beautiful. A sequel would be awesome. |

Final Fantasy is definitely one of the best RPGs for the 83+.
Graphics: The graphics are superb. There are many different types of enemies and terrain tiles and it all loads very fast. Rating: 9/10
The gameplay is, well, Final Fantasy. You are a group of warriors who go around the land and battle enemies in order to defeat the bosses and get rewards, etc. There is a king that tells you what to do to achieve your quest, so the plot is rather linear. Rating: 7/10
Controls: The controls are very simple. Arrow keys move, [2nd] selects and brings up menu, and [Alpha] deselects. Rating: 10/10
Bugs: There are only a few bugs with this game. They happen rarely, but are rather drastic. Sometimes when I exit the program, the calc goes dead. When I turn it back on, the RAM gets cleared. Other times, my archive was cleared.
Overall: This game has superior and fast graphics, good gameplay, and simple controls, but getting my memory cleared is really frustrating. Rating: 6/10. |

One of the best RPGs made in ASM to date, Final Fantasy provides many hours of entertainment. The sprites used and magic animations are beautifully made. However, there are some downsides to this. Due to the increase of difficulty from version 1.0, you will find yourself having to train up a lot to enter new areas or defeat the now stronger bosses. Weapon class requirements have been added too, so now, you can't equip Masamunes on your entire party :P
Overall - 9.5/10 |

Note! This review was written for a previous version of this file!
I think this is definitely the best game for the 83+! The graphics are great for the calculator, and the sprites are wonderful! The game also has an interesting storyline, and very fun gameplay. There are a few bugs that can occur, but if you remember to use the "tent" from the boat (when you have it), they should not be a problem.
Overall 9.5/10 |
