When I first saw this, I knew I had to read it right away. A guide on how to make good games! Unfortunately, when I read it, I discovered a few things about it. While most of the information is useful, the file in general reminded me of the tale of the two men and the fish.
In the tale, a big man and a small man are on a business trip, and they both order fish for dinner. When the fish arrives, there's a big fish and a small fish, and the big man promptly takes the big one. However, the small man protests that this is impolite.
Big Man: So what would you have done if I'd given you first choice?
Small Man: I would have been polite and picked up the small fish.
"Well, that's what you've got!!"
The moral of this tale is that some people are hard to please. This guide felt like that, but the main thing that turned me off was the author's tone. It felt as if he was standing over me and saying "Listen up, dumb-&*$%!"
While this guide has its good points, its presentation and tone will probably drive readers away. I suggest downloading it, milking all of the advice out of it, then never opening it again.
