It was close between TI-Boy and IndestructoTank, but I had to go with TI-Boy because it has a wider variety of possibilities.

I vote for Shift, because I loved the game itself and the level editor. I was able to make few fun levels myself and distribute them to others. I unfortunately have a bad TI84+SE and so I wasn't able to play TI-Boy.

I was thinking of either Chip's challenge or Shift, but I leaned more to shift because of its level editor

And once again, I needed to confirm my account before I was allowed to vote. Seriously. What the heck.

I hate that, especially that it happens even when you are actually active

Yeah, it would be nice if it didn't interrupt your flow. Maybe if there was a preference you could set to have it email you when it's almost time to verify, and then you could do that at a convenient time, before it prevents you from logging in. Or even just a way to force verification early at your leisure, so you have another four months before you have to worry about it again. :-)

I have to admit, this is a really hard choice. I love all of them. But the one I like the most is the TI-Boy. I know that it doesn't work on all calculators, but it's still incredible. I fear that most people won't vote for it just because they don't have a calculator that will work with it.
Chip's Challenge is a classic that never gets old. I still play it on my computer. I almost voted for it.

This makes the first time I didn't vote for something I wrote (when I could've).

You can't not vote for TI-Boy..come on, kids, a Game Boy emulator.

I would have voted for it, but it's still incomplete with bugs. I'll definitely vote for it in the future when the bugs are gone and I can actually try it out.

This was a really hard choice. It took me until the day before the poll is supposed to close to decide. :-) They're all neat.

But one thing I've always wanted to see more of is more alternative on-calc programming languages, where you can work on projects anywhere you go. TI-BASIC is often too slow and limited, and practical ASM mostly requires computer access and is too difficult for a great deal of people to learn and master. BBC Basic is a step toward filling in that gap. So I decided to vote for that.

It would be neat to see more of those kinds of programs being developed, especially if they could survive long enough to approach maturity and be serious competitors.

I voted for "Travis Evans."

...this is the "most favorite staff member" poll, right?

I voted for "Nikky Southerland."

I thought this was the "most hated staff member" poll.

Great selection this year.

Eventually I had to go with TI-Boy. While the others are more useful/fun as of now, an actual emulator just has so much potential.

Since the question was: Re: Favorite TI-83/TI-83+/TI-84+ Program for 2009? What does that say about the nspire calculator not being part of the question?

It says that this question was about the 83+ series calculators and not anything else.

Well, for the TI-83 Plus series, I think TASM-on-calc should've been nominated (have you heard of it?) It allows you to write ASM programs on your calc, so can be dead handy when you don't have access to a computer.

It also has an include file that you can edit and add to, on your TI or your PC.

But out of these choices, I would have to choose TI-Boy because of the great emulation and the variety of games written for it.
