Ever heard of amazon.com (see link)?
Why does it has to be an 83-, not an 83+? If the only reason is the price then I suggest you take a look at EBay (http://buy.ebay.com/ti-83) so you can see for yourself the prices aren't so bad (especially not second hand). HTH!

My ti-89 titanium provides endless entertainment during pre-calculus class, and it wasted most of my time in algebra 2 trig last year...
