My problem with the sliding cases is that they wear out and don't stay on well, and get so annoying that I tend to leave the case off most of the time except for when I'm actually transporting the calculator. I think the wear probably occurs on both the cases and the calculators' sides themselves, so I'm not sure a new case would solve the problem. (Has anyone tried it, though? Does a new case fix the problem with lack of friction?)
I'm not sure which poll choice to vote, now. I *sometimes* use the case, but no, the case is not fine. :-)

I stopped using the sliding case that came with my 89 after it wouldn't stay on tight enough so I threw it out
