Wow, the votes-to-posts ratio is rather low; this must not be a very popular survey to discuss...I guess bug reports just don't turn the average ticalc.org user on...

At least in my case, the option I chose was specific enough to not warrant any clarification, & I have not had any great ideas regarding anyone's posts yet, & I would bet that is the case with many other people here.

I have an idea!
You know how there are RSS feeds for news and recent programs? What if there were feeds for every program? They'd be dynamically generated, so space wouldn't be an issue, and authors could keep up with their data easier!
(yes, and it would make my life easier by having all of the data for CalcStat available in a DOM parsable format!)

Not a bad idea; I know I'd find that useful for my programs.

People's emails are already posted on the file information page. It's not that hard to send an email.

You're definitely right, but it's more of a psychological thing. I personally find it easier to fill out a form and press the "Submit" button than to write an e-mail.

Yeah, it's more like just talking to a machine than actually initiating correspondence with another human being...(who does that anyway....:-) )

How about, "No, because some addresses might be outdated, and some authors might not want to fix the bugs?"
