& of course all the non-votes for the "I am not going to start voting in surveys now." non-option. :)

Pity it's not there, I'd love to see how many people would have picked it. ;)

I used to post a lot. Then I kinda stopped programming (except in java at very random points in time)...but now I'm in an assembly class (yay!)...so i get to program again! Anyway, I just look at the site occasionally, post occasionally, and download a game occasionally.

Yeah, I myself have drifted away from this site more and more...I just bought an 89 Titanium though, so I may be here a LITTLE more often now...I haven't uploaded a program in a loooong time though...and it's been a while since I posted too...

Yes, it is. I can't believe the survey editor wrote "alright" when the proper, legitimate phrase is "all right." The nerve of some people...*goes off muttering*

Yeah, I noticed that too. Shameful the level to which the survey has sunk this time around...

maybe it's because he wanted to know how much people would hate this survey...

ah ha! i have figured it out... it is a genius plan: he makes a horrible survey, everybody hates it, they send in their awesome ideas, he has great surveys for months!

Wow. This survey has a really low ratio of posts to votes.

That's because it's almost impossible to stay on-topic:

"I've voted in over 5*pi surveys! Whoop-dee-doo!!!"

Yeah, there are only a certain number of times everyone can complain about the lameness of this survey, and be told to submit their own ideas if they want better ones.

Obviously there's nothing interesting to survey people about right now. Pity...

Maybe one asking about what programming language people would most like to see added.

traditional BASIC
Perl
a Lisp or Scheme dialect
Forth
COBOL
Intercal
Language? You mean you can program calculators?
Programming? Is that some kind of game?

Or a survey of which languages people program in.

I think there was one like that about a year ago (give or take a couple months). It took FOREVER to wade through all the comments on that one... ;-)

I don't see why they can't repeat surveys every year or so - it would be interesting to see how the community has changed.

By the way, Malbolge (arguably one of the worst (that is, hardest (but unfortunately, possibly not Turing-complete)) languages) has already been ported to the TI-89/92+. As I did it, I know it was easy, so it should be easy to do other similar relatively small languages that have publicly available C code. It mainly depends upon the demand (& no, I am probably not going to port language X for you unless I already want it ported or you give me a really good reason).

I do indeed like LISP, especially the Scheme dialect (yay for call-with-current-continuation (which I have actually used in a reasonable situation before (specifically, to implement the "amb" form, which simulates nondeterministic computation))). Just last week I implemented quaternions & octonions in Scheme in a manner that allows the use of the built-in math operators on them. Also, I once submitted a paper for English class that had 7 (I think) levels of nested parentheses, & it got an A. :)
