Where's the "Yes, I would like to be Magnus" option?!

Pardon the ign'ance, but what's "Magnus"?

Magnus Hagander (SP?) is the person who basically manages this entire site...with help from others of course. If ticalc.org were the US, Magnus would be the president.

The "About" Section says that he is "Editor-in-Chief"

But he manages the ticalc.org hardware/server, and thus keeps ticalc.org ALIVE!

Right. In this case, the duties of the post of "Editor-in-Chief" includes "keeping ticalc.org ALIVE!"

What was that scream for? Windows is a great OS (at least XP is). *hopes not to be flamed* Besides, DirectX is superior to OpenGx libraries, and it can be proven. *again, hopes not to be flamed*

Sadly, yes...

The thing that I like is that you don't have to face a deadline if you are working on your own and submitting programs for free. Working for a company you have to face due dates, deadlines, sudden changes in programming, and a lot of other things. You can work at your own pace and set your own deadlines and change things according to what you want to do and not have to listen to the boss saying that you need to have something that isn't due for a week tomorrow.

You have a valid point but programming isnt what i Really want to do. I like electrical mechanics and develpoping a calculator with the company would allow me to work the type of components i want. I would get to work with them without any pocket expense and on top of that I would get paid.

When I would do that for free!!

The getting paid part would be the highlight of the job and not having to spend any pocket money is even better. Being able to design and build something you like is great. I like to know how things work electronically, but mainly I like to know how programs work with a device so the design and programming are important. I like programming for free, but the only disadvantage I see is having to face a due date.

Another disadvantage is that you wouldn't have complete control over what you were working on -- you'd have to do what TI wanted and sometimes that wouldn't be what you wanted. Also, anything you write is their property.

At least you can have complete control over what you program and can have ownership over that too.

But you wouldn't, really. You'd have to program to TI's specs and they would be the intellectual property owners, right?

I meant that you could program and have ownership over the programs you created and summit them to ticalc.org for free. I guess I should have been a bit more specific.
