Adding wireless would disqualify said calculator from any standardized tests, or any test for that matter. Too much of an opportunity to cheat.

If it's not hard to temporarily disable the feature, then what's to stop you from re-enableing it?

Perhaps teachers can install modified OSes into students's calculators that allow the teacher to lock out the wireless feature until the test is over. The teacher can do that... wirelessly!!!
The teacher will check OSes before the test so it's impossible to cheat.

Before anyone decides to flame me, I KNOW that this will eventually be bypassed, and people will be making fake programs to trick the teacher as they did when teachers decided to reset the RAM.

An example of an ati-rese program: there exists a program for the 85 using Z-Shell (I think...) that, when the teacher resets the MEMORY, you must press only F1 (Once again, I think) to get EVERYTHING back, including Z-Shell and all of your precious programs. Then again, you can NOT PRESS F1 to have your memory pernamently reset...

I've seen programs like that for the 85 and 86, only problem is that they require that half the ram be free for the hiding of the data...

as for bypassing the teachers remote disabler.... tin foil....

Or even better... disable the wireless yourself before going to the classroom...

On-calc by using temporary passwords that are updated on th calc AND the teacher's computer... the generator is built into the modified OS...

Eww, I wouldn't want the teachers having that much "control" over what goes on in my calculator. It sounds like an invasion of privacy to me.

Just block the signal by using something else in the room so that the calculators can't establish a connection. Anyone seen a site on making a shortwave FM transmitter that can broadcast on any frequency up to 100m?

that's why we have an add-on module instead of built in. it's nice having a TI-84+ SE on SOL's :P

I think that you could find a USB wireless adapter and wire a mini USB port to it, then write softwhere(the hard part).

It would have to be a USB OnTheGo device, and be compatible with being controlled by another OnTheGo device.

120d, the software would be almost impossible. You would have to figure out how the adapter worked at the hardware level, which would mean disassembling the drivers for it.

Masking tape plus a continuous broadcast of a reset signal in order to discourage the removal of the tape.

Yes, *Evil Laugh*

BUT WAIT! There would have to be some sort of standard! That would mean that everyone would have to build a device according to a standard made by the TI community. Perhaps this device can be sold?
