BasicBuilder's application for the PC seemed to me like it would win (see link). Since it was the only program for the Ti83+, it would gather most of the votes from the Ti83+ voters. But for the 68k calculators, there were two programs that were both fairly good, so it would split the vote between them (and this is exactly what happened). But, I imagine the same would have happened if there were two Ti83+ programs listed.

by looking at the votes it seems that their are more 83+ users so the 68k programs were probably doomed from the start

I didn't try to predict the winners, but that's only because I was on my (2 month?) vacation from ticalc.org... :( ...I've missed you guys so much! ;) j/k...I've just been very busy. I get my computer on Thursday (TECHNICALLY tomorrow, but hey...) because it was delayed 2 days...I SHOULD HAVE IT NOW!!! Anyways, to get back on topic...I would have probably voted for some of the older programs because those are the ones that I have played, but then, before I voted, I would have tested the others I hadn't played, just so that they get a fair vote...So, honestly, I still don't know who I would have voted for, but, from the looks of the screenshots, all the programs look great, and I would like to extend a big congratulations to all of the winners!

Has anyone else tried to pronounce the name of this contest and wound up feeling very awkward? Just wondering.

You're supposed to spell it out. There *have* been jokes about it ever since it was first started. ;-)

Its sad, but at the time we were coming up with the whole concept, we certainly thought about it being a odd name, but did't care enough to try and come up with something different. It proved easer to just take the POTM and cange it to a 'Y' wether is made a word or not :-)
