Wow, this poll must have been put up now.
For me, I don't think I'll be submitting anything, mainly because the thought never really crossed my mind, and I don't know what I'd submit :)

Well, 8! IS very different than 8\! or 8//!. On a message board about calculators, you'd expect most things to be somewhat math-related, so naturally, the "bang" symbol is going to denote a factorial in the cases where it appears directly after a number.
I don't think anybody's going to say that "I voted 'no' on the poll!" is equal to
"I voted 'no' on the poll(poll-1)(poll-2)(...)(1)" (though that would be funny ;-))
...So there's not really any reason to complain about it. :P Besides, if a number is the last "word" in your sentence, aren't you supposed to write out the whole number, anyway? (To be grammatically correct) If so, then that gives everybody even more reason to say 8!=40320.
Whatever, I'm just rambling...
