Everybody should only use the free ones. Paying for an APP is just bad. I mean, they have some good APPs, but paying for one doesn't seem like a great idea to me. I just go for the free ones. Besides, third party software covers everything I've needed so far.

Am I replying to a first grader?

Before you reply to something wait 10 minutes, write your post, take some deep breaths, wait 10 more minutes and then proofread your post for coherency.

That said you've maid some big claims. Why is paying for flash apps bad?

Although some of the tools could be useful under certain circumstances, I wouldn't ever pay money for calculator software. And talking about coherency, you have "maid" some pretty big claims about no_one's post. ;)

These discussions about flash apps (costing money) versus user made made programs always end up annoying me. The posts I read seem to assume that superior user made programs are as natural as fish in the sea.

Then I contemplate keeping bugfixed versions of software I've written to myself. Or asking the ticalc staff to remove programs. Or adding annoying ware features like installing inappropriate TSRs that print stuff stuff like "Have you thanked Samuel Today?"

If you have a gigantic asm/C program, it works better as an app because the app structure built into AMS does a lot of things that you would need to do by yourself (endless _rowread loops in editors, for instance).

To clarify the "Am I replying to a first grader?": Saying that something is bad reminded me of 5 year olds I've talked to who use the word "stupid" 10 times a minute as thier all encompassing negative adjective.

Thier? I think he only used the word "bad" once. But I can forgive him. Didn't he make that one fun game called Kill Osama Bin Laden?

Because it just seems pointless to pay for APPs. If you want a program bad enough, either write one on your own or download somebody else's. And yes, congratuations, you guessed correctly-- I am a first grader.

Wow, you're the first 1st grader I have ever met that just happened to know over 150 digits of PI, wrote a program to memorize them, and regularly participates in a mathematics competition! lol

It would be nice to have some of the ones for the 83+ that require payment, but I would never actually spend any money buying apps-if I really need a program, and it isn't too complex, I can write it myself. :-P

Anyone have a TI-89 copy of Geometer's Sketchpad (any ID works) that you could send? I know how to hack the file so that it works on my calc. In return, I could give you a legal copy of CellSheet for TI-89. Please send replies to paul@paulygon.org

Has TI ever gotten mad at this site for allowing people to download the apps that they sell?

They are not the same applications! They are just replicates of the ones Ti sell!
