Every time I see (mha) at the end of the updates, my brain thinks "(mwuhaha)" like some ticalc staffer laughing evilly at some cruel inside joke that is supposed to be an update. It's take about a full second to realize that it's Magnus's initials, and there's no joke (at least, I hope not).

I thought the exact same thing (at first)! I didn't realize until recently that those letters represented Magnus.

I'm configuring a server... Well, eventually...

I thought that I'd come here to see if anyone knows basic web server configuration and could recommend what modules to initally use with Apache Server. I did this after Googling and a GUI like ApacheConf seems handy.
Anyway, I'm asking b/c I was appointed webmaster of my high school's Computer Club. Okay, it's really more of a "Play videogames and have some semblance of education" club right now, but it's getting to "educational".

Anyway, I tried posting to the Game Ideas but I couldn't. Has anyone else had that problem?

Yup. I just tried to post in Game Ideas, but the posting form won't come up. All I get is the ticalc.org standard header with all the sections, a gray stripe, and a blank page below that.

I did some more testing and found that posting didn't work for all of the programing ideas. Also, posting to upcoming programs went really slowly, but it did work (maybe its just my computer).

A new bug just happened...I was looking at Samuel Stearley's Author Profile after looking at one of his programs, and when I got to the bottom of his program list, I saw the TIcalc.org header logo, and then below that was another copy of everything I had already looked at...I took a screenshot of it using ALT + Print Screen, but I don't have a webpage or anything to put it on to prove that this happened...I guess I could email it to anyone if they want to see it...it was really wierd.

I'm using Netscape...it just happened twice more. To experiment, I went to the "second" page and tried clicking on links. Instead of opening the links it scrolled to the "first" page where I had clicked. Very wierd. I am going to save the pic this time so I can send it. Just give me the email address where it should be sent...

hmm.... then it might be a problem, because most things on the internet are tested with Internet Explorer. You should try that when something doesn't work on netscape.

Hey, that happened to me, too! I'm using Mozilla 1.6. I thought I was just crazy. :)

Oh yeah... the funny thing is the only website I've seen it happen on was ticalc.org. But it only happens occasionally or randomly. I have no idea how to reproduce it.

I'm planning on making a program that will do that. Give the answer and the remainder.

But if you really want to make one, then I'd just input the coefficients, and program the same method you'd use with pencil and paper.

I still say get a TI-89.

Just get an 89. It does that for you.
Btw, I just found out I can use an 89 on my AP exam! No one else I know has one (at my school) so I should be able to do very well compared to them.

And an 89 really find all of the roots of quartic equations and stuff? I mean, how??? They only have formulas for up to quartics... How is it possible?

I would think that it performs some super-fast synthetic division. I have to admire the programmers at TI, I could never program something like that.
