Maybe it's just me, but it seems like I kept subscribing to the newsletter and every time one finally did get sent out, it never sent me one.

Wow! This news system *is* fast. I should have voted for that as my favorite feature, but I missed it (didn't know they upgraded it).

I chose reviews, because it's great to get other peaple's opinion on programs before you download them. However, it was a hard decision, because I liked most of the choices. I don't see how people can choose the "ticalc.org was fine a year ago" option. It was, but a lot of improvements have been made. Wow, that was long!

not many progs ive seen have reviews... I reviewed a bunch of good games like:
Asteroids, Lotus, Kof2K, Galaxian, Gemini, Zelda TOC, and IceClimb. Other than those, I've only seen two reviews...

In the updates bar on the front page you will notice that Magnus has implemented some new icons. Files that have reviews will have a star in the icon.

I'm sorry, but what are RSS feeds? I can't seem to do anything with them. I'm getting along without them fine, though...

They can also be read by newsreader programs, like KNewsTicker (linux). They are written in XML.

i think that the best thing is having an archive staff. Exactly one year ago the pending files reached over 1,000 (click link above. With the new staff ive never seen them above 50. This means that you can upload your files and theyll end up on the site in no more than 2 days usually, although one of mine was up in less than 24 hours. Good job Morgan and Joey! (you guys are the archivers right?)

Unfortunately ever since the move to the new server (which I should have voted for) It has been kind of iffy on adding files. I think we've gotten back to the point where it is within a day or two. It's been over 100 a few times...but in general is around the moderate level.

The probability problem about monkeys typing the works of shakespeare? Every site that I've read into about that never took into the account that there are 256 different characters that the monkeys could be typing, versus 26 (alphabetic). That changes the odds a bit :) It's hard enough just to get random characters just to print out a real word.

Well, I guess they could replace the monkeys with virtual monkeys which are simply pseudo-random ASCII code generators. :)
