I like HTTP because it's the most user friendly. I coudn't figure out how the ftp worked. It wasn't working for some reason. The other stuff I don't know what they are.

What about CVS? Maybe I'm just being daft, but I think it uses its own download protocol.
 CVS=Concurrent Versions System
 Used to update source codes and such.

FTP = File Transfer Protocol
FTP is designed for transfering files so I will stick to that for downloads.  Though HTTP is not too bad.  I guess that is what I will be using here from now on.

http , it is the easiest to use and it doesnt lag like FTP did on my primary computer
